Typical Daily Schedule at Kickapoo

Our class groups are small, allowing counselors to devote individual attention to the campers. Because activities are chosen and assigned on an individual basis, KICKAPOO KAMP can provide the experience children and their parents are seeking.

WATER SPORTS

Kickapoo Kamp is particularly blessed with outstanding facilities for a fine water sports program. Spring-fed Turtle Creek, which flows through the camp property, affords fine private swimming for beginner, intermediate, and advanced swimmers.

Swimming is taught by American Red Cross standards. All swimming counselors are Water Safety Instructors and all water activity counselors have Lifeguard training.

On Kickapoo's beautiful private lake, swimmers enjoy water sports, such as canoeing and water skiing, all of course, under the close supervision of competent instructors. For extra safety, ear drops are given after every swim.

Campers must have passed beginners swimming to take above water activities.

HORSEBACK RIDING

Kickapoo Kamp is one of the outstanding riding camps of the country, and horseback riding is one of the most popular of all the activities at Kickapoo Kamp.

We have our own stable of fine saddle horses, carefully selected and trained for girls of camp age. Our counselors are experienced riders and excellent teachers. All riders are required to wear riding helmets that are specifically approved for horseback riding.

Many girls who have never ridden horseback before coming to Kickapoo soon become competent riders under the tutelage of our riding instructors. In addition to rides in our large corral, there are trail rides through the picturesque hills on the camp for the advanced riders.

There is no extra charge for horseback riding at Kickapoo.
